GridGames.ID – Choosing a Mage job when you first play Ragnarok M is definitely an option for those of you who don’t like attacking monsters at close range.

Mage has an advanced Wizard job and there are no other advanced job options. After the Wizard, you will proceed to the High Wizard job.

The advantage of the Mage job and its sequels is that it has long-range skills, but its HP can be fairly thin so it is vulnerable to death.

Mage

  • Soul Strike 5
  • Increase SP Recovery 10
  • Fire Bold 5
  • Ring of Fire 10
  • Max Soul Strike
  • 2-3 points each on Cold Bolt and Lightning Bolt

As a Mage, the most important skills for you are Soul Strike and Ring of Fire.

Soul Strike is the best offensive skill available because of its almost instant or fast cast time.

If the Ring of Fire is used as a defensive skill to protect you from monsters who like to approach when hit.

Other bolts are useful for your combat test when you change jobs to Wizard, because you will be fighting monsters with different elements.

Wizard

  • Heaven’s Drive 1
  • Magic Crasher 5
  • Soul Drain 10
  • Energy Coat 5
  • Storm Gust 1, and others.

As a Wizard, his main farming skills are Heaven’s Drive and Magic Crasher.

Heaven’s Drive is great against Wind-type enemies (Hornets, Menblatts, Dustiness), while Magic Crasher is now a target skill for 1 monster because it can deal damage to neutral elements.

Fast skills and instant casts each with a little cooldown which makes it the best skill for grinding.

Maxing Soul Drain is great for SP sustainability when used in conjunction with Magic Crasher.

The Energy Coat will also give you more defense and magic damage to maximize your Wizard farming potential.

Storm Gust is mostly used as an AoE utility spell to freeze hordes of monsters and is great as a support skill when in a party.

After that it’s up to you what skills you should use. Maybe Jupitel Thunder and max out Lord of Vermillion.

High Wizard

  • Magic Power 10
  • Napalm Vulcan 6–10 (depending on your equipment)
  • Fire Bolt 10
  • Cold Bolt 10
  • Increase SP Recovery 10
  • Ring of Fire 10

You will get maximum farming power when you become a High Wizard.

By using Magic Power and Napalm Vulcan, you can hit Eggyra once and farm Zeny.

At this point you may also want to reset your skills and maximize Mage skills such as Fire Bolt, Cold Bolt, Increase SP Recovery and Ring of Fire. You won’t need Soul Strike anymore at this stage.

At the end, you can get Aesir Monument and Runes to get Meteor Storm.

This will allow you to farm Stings, which are weak to the Fire element.

Meteor Storm also doesn’t have a fixed cast time, which allows you to cast quickly or install it with reduced Cast Delay.
